Live feeds from cameras placed on both the East and West portals of the Brush Tunnel show cyclists, hikers, and the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad. The feeds can be viewed courtesy of Mountain Maryland Trails and are on their website.


The Brush Tunnel on the Great Allegheny Passage (GAP) is a historic railroad tunnel that plays a significant role as a point of interest along the trail. It was constructed in 1911 by the Western Maryland Railway and is approximately 914 feet long It is located approximately 5 miles west of the beginning of the Great Allegheny Passage at Cumberland. The tunnel is accessed at the Cash Valley Road Trailhead.

About Mountain Maryland Trails (MMT). MMT is a citizens' group formed in the 1990s to promote Maryland's portion of a project that has become known as the Great Allegheny Passage, as well as trail and recreational development in Western Maryland and the surrounding areas.
