Mountain Maryland Trails, in collaboration with the GIS department at Frostburg State University and instructor Adam Lewis, has installed nine new informational and interpretive signs along the Great Allegheny Passage (GAP). To create these signs, Mountain Maryland Trails contracted Custom Concepts, a company based in Frostburg, to print and install them along the Allegany County section of the GAP.

As a nonprofit volunteer organization, Mountain Maryland Trails (MMT) is responsible for maintaining the Allegany County portion of the Great Allegheny Passage, which stretches from Cumberland, MD, to Pittsburgh, PA. The organization also focuses on developing and promoting recreational trails for cycling, hiking, and walking throughout Western Maryland. MMT is governed by a board of directors that collaborates with the Allegany County Government to ensure proper trail maintenance.
